Psychic Mediums

In Asian horror movies, it is common for a psychic medium to be one of the most important roles in the movie.

In the ancient world, Asians believed that the dead could be contacted through a gifted person. Psychic mediums are gifted people who have the power to allow spirits to send messages from the afterlife.  While this might sound eerie and creepy to most people, for those who have just lost their loved ones, this is the best way of communicating with them.

Mediumship takes in two forms -physical mediums and mental mediums. Physical mediums are preferred by people who want to see and hear what is happening. By sitting next to the medium, you will be brought to spiritual world. It is not true that mediums use ghosts and wandering spirits to disturb people after each treatment in hope to get repeating business. Mediums are merely people who can convey messages. They do not have the ability to instruct or direct spirits to carry out work if no black magic is involved.

As for mental mediums, mental phenomena are demonstrated through the mind of a medium.  Some advanced mediums are able to perceive spirits that are not physical and cannot be seen by human eyes. This is known as clairsentience. Mediums that have the gift to see what others cannot are called clairvoyant. If the spirit can only be heard, it is called clairaudience.

There are a number of mediums who can foresee the future. The difference between a psychic medium and a fortune teller is that a psychic medium has the ability to talk to spirits. This is not the case for a fortune teller.
Why do some people want to talk to ghosts? Some are doing it for love, while many simply want to have fun.  If the session is handled by an unprofessional or unskilled medium, it might not be a good idea to join, as in many cases the medium and the audience are possessed by a spirit.  People do need to take note of this, as anything that involves the dead and spirits is not easily handled once you have joined in.

People, especially older people, still seek help and guidance from psychic mediums. Such services still exists in modern civilization. Human beings are basically curious and want to know many things. When it comes to spirit and the underworld, people can always satisfy their curiosity by seeking psychic mediums.
